The Brevard Zoo is divided into separate corners of the world and its 56+ acres are home many different creatures from the elegant Giraffes of the plains of Africa to the vicious Alligators of Florida’s swamplands. This is a zoo for the adventurous with up close and personal Kayak tours that put you in with the animals, close enough to reach out and feed them. Our ground-breaking education programs are models for zoos around the United States; divided into several unique habitats: Expedition Africa: Hand-feed giraffe from the observation platform overlooking our newest exhibit. Guided kayak trip through rhino and giraffe habitat are available on a first-come basis. Wetlands Outpost Kayaking: Our Wild Florida habitat features this rustic Observation Outpost & Dock overlooking the zoo’s 22 acre restored wetlands exhibit along with educational, guided kayak trips. Train Ride: 10 minute ride past the Australian aviary and around Lemur Island; A portion of each ride benefits the zoo’s conservation programs. Paws On Animal Study Zone: Paws On is a unique multi-leveled interactive playground for children and adults. Animal Encounters Contact Yard: Get up-close and hands-on with a variety of domestic animals in the contact yard - located in Paws On. Wildside Encounters, Destination Africa: A behind-the-scenes tour of the zoo with an animal keeper. Outdoor Adventure Tours: We offer a variety of tours for nature enthusiasts.
